Inspired, Inspiring, Inspirational...
Each word a person might use to describe Nik Halik. I certainly will. When I got the email from Mr. Halik's publicity team to possibly host him on my blog, I jumped at the chance. Honestly, I had only heard of this man because of Facebook and Twitter and all of those social network sites. Sometimes people can drown in the flotsam of names, faces and links on them.
Yet, something in me jumped at the chance. The request was rampant with information about Mr. Halik - that he is a certified astronaut, that he and his wife were married in a live volcano... you must be excited with a guy like this. So, I said "Yes." And how lucky I am.
Last night while reading the first three chapters of his book "The Thrillionaire," I realized the depth of this man. He's not some dare devil crazy guy swimming with Great White sharks just to say he's done it. No, he is a lover of life who understands the meaning of wealth far better than any owner of a Fortune 500 business... FAR better.
I cannot wait to finish his book. So, let me go back a second, I'm reading his book and thinking, "Wow, this is all right. He's completely and utterly right!" This morning I woke up refreshed and ready to get busy. I will be making a phone call to my girlfriend who took me on Sunday up a small hill but a wretched one, Mt. Finlayson. I call it "hell hill." She calls it "the butt burner." I complained the whole time... it's one of the things I do best! :) However, this morning, I awoke thinking, "I have to go to Mt. Finlayson today. I WANT to go to Mt. Finlayson today!"
And, why? Because of the inspired and inspirational words in Mr. Halik's book, "The Thrillionaire."
I can't wait to finish this book. And, if you read the book, I sincerely hope you comment here and tell me how it makes you feel.
Okay, my quest for today? Interview Mr. Halik at 1 p.m. (PST). Climb Mt. Finlayson, 2 p.m.! Now, I have to get busy...
